Monday Musts

MUST BUY: IPHONE CROSS-BODY STRAP

I’ve had so many questions about this (kind of silly, yet sooo functional) purchase. So let me tell you, this phone case is a mom’s best friend. I wanted a way to get rid of my purse, but always be able to keep my phone handy (difficult without pockets). And this is perfect. It’s cute, has a place for my credit cards and I can even attach my key FOB to the hardware if I need to. Bye bye purse – I like taking my lulu backpacks around anyway.

You can buy it from somewhere like Nordstrom or you can get it quick on Amazon like I did. I purchased the black leather with gold hardware (no brainer).

Buy it here.

MUST ORDER: LETTUCE WRAPPED BURGERS

When I’m on a tighter macro budget, I love suggesting ways to cut corners without sacrificing (too much) taste. My family loves to eat burgers, so there’s no reason I should miss out just because I’m eating in a deficit (cue lettuce burgers). Most places will do these if you ask. For example, this one is from Habit burger (my favorite). For comparison purposes, a lettuce charburger is 352 calories (3c/19f/18p) vs the regular charburger which is 470 calories (35c/35f/20g). Definitely a good option when eating out. As always, I recommend looking up menus before hand so you know what you are getting into.

Check out Habit Burgers menu here.

MUST DO: BE YOU, FOR YOU

I’ve thought a lot this week about being true to yourself, and what that really means. More importantly, what does it mean if you aren’t? YOU set your own limits. You are the one who holds yourself back. No one else.

MUST THINK: BACK INTO BENCH CUE

Establishing cues can help develop consistency that should improve form and performance. That being said, I don’t normally give out cues to a general population – cues should be personal, because everyone’s cues will vary based on an individual and what their lift needs. I think it’s also important to note that cues should always be evolving. I’m always tweaking my form, and something that I’ve needed to readdress is thinking of driving my back into the bench during the entirety of my bench press. This helps reinforce overall tightness and helps me keep my chest from caving. As soon as I fixed this, bench and I were friends again. Heavy numbers started to move a lot better than weeks prior. Try it, maybe it works for you too.

Not the greatest vid, but here’s where it started to click.

Must drink: Passion Tango Iced Tea (Starbucks)

For as long as I can remember, this has always been my favorite tea. It’s made with hibiscus, lemon and apple flavors, making it a perfect, delicious, summer drink. A Grande from Starbucks has 45 calories (11c) – Pro tip, I like to order mine unsweetened.

As always, I’m not paid to review or recommend any of the products listed (just things I like).

That’s it for this week’s musts. Have a great week friends!
