Must listen: TEDTalks Health podcast

 I started listening to the TEDTalks Health podcast this week and I’m pleasantly surprised with how much I’m enjoying it. What is really refreshing is that all talks are done by professionals (doctors, researchers) so the information provided is credible and can be trusted. From new medicine to sleep benefits, and stress tips to physical therapy, there are topics that anyone and everyone can learn from and relate to. I encourage you to give a few episodes a listen. Must buy: Into the Sun Tee (Lululemon)

I am in LOVE with this tee. It’s a flattering cut and has cute details on the back. Made from a cool material that dries fast, this top is perfect to sweat in. Plus, the color (Dusty Dawn) is beautiful in person. I see myself hiking, jogging or doing outdoor activities in this go-to active shirt. I sized up from my usual size to give it a baggier look. Must watch: Knee Sleeve Review

I love this because she grades popular styles on price, comfort, durability, ease of putting on, compression, style and how bad they smell. If you are new to knee sleeves, this video is perfect for you. If you scroll to the bottom, she even gives links and prices for each brand. I personally favor SBD sleeves, even though they are a pain to get on and aren’t super comfortable. I feel like they give my knees so much support, that I couldn’t imagine squatting in anything less.

Must try: The Landmine Squat

I’m a huge fan of squat variations that keep a barbell off your back. For rehabbers, landmine squats are an almost always pain free way to squat that are relatively easy to execute but surprisingly challenging. Ideal for those who don’t want to put additional (and unnecessary) loads on their back, or maybe have a difficult time squatting with a barbell in the first place. I love how they force you to sit back, but still stay upright. Think they look easy? Do a few sets of 15+ and you’ll feel your quads fire right up. And here’s a tip for set up, prop the weighted end on a bench so you can get under it first. Try em, let me know what you think.

Must hike in: X Ultra 3 Mid GTX Hiking Boots (Salomon)

Hiking will always be my cardio of choice. And the best favor you can do for your feet is get a great pair of shoes. These are my new favorite as they don’t feel heavy and provide the right amount of grip without getting too hot. They are super comfortable, waterproof and give just enough ankle support. They just came out with some new colors for this season (I LOVE the beach glass). Ladies, if you plan on hiking this year, this is the shoe for you.
